Sebastian Weiss

Sebastian Weiss is a German jazz pianist.

Weiss first studied classical and jazz piano with Dieter Glawischnig in Hamburg. He then continued his education at the Manhattan School of Music with Jaki Byard and, after his murder in 1999, with Mark Soskin . In 2000 his debut album Polaroid Memory was released with bassist Bob Bowen and drummer Dan Weiss . In the same year he worked on Scott Hesse's album Flame Within the Fire .

This was followed by the album Monumentum , on which apart from him, Bob Bowen and Dan Weiss the saxophonist Miguel Zenón plays. After touring with Gitte Hænning in 2001 and 2002 , he recorded the album Jazz with her, Stefan Weeke and Thomas Alkier . The album Changes was created in 2004 with the jazz singer Chinaza . In 2009 the album Resolve was released (with Pepe Berns and Heinrich Köbberling ).
