Sebastian Zier

Sebastian Zier (* 1977 in Furtwangen ) is a German chef .

Career

After completing his training, Zier moved to the “Le Cerf” restaurant in Marlenheim in France in 2001 and to “Burg Staufeneck” in Salach in 2002 . In 2002 he went to Harald Wohlfahrt's "Schwarzwaldstube" in Baiersbronn . From 2005 he worked in the same hotel “Traube Tonbach” in Baiersbronn. In 2007 he moved to the “Schlossstern” restaurant in Schloss Velden in Austria.

From 2010 to 2014 he was head chef in the restaurant “La Mer” on Sylt , which has been awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide since the 2012 edition. Shortly after the star was confirmed, the restaurant closed on January 5, 2015.

Since April 2015 he has been head chef together with Moses Ceylan at the Einstein Gourmet restaurant in the Hotel Einstein St. Gallen . His kitchen brigade and Maître Stephan Nitzsche went with them. The restaurant was awarded one Michelin star in 2015 and two Michelin stars in 2017 .
