The Sebastian Spring is a healing spring in Breitenbrunn in the Upper Palatinate .
description
The Sebastian spring is located on the eastern outskirts of Breitenbrunn, below the rock on which the baroque pilgrimage church of St. Sebastian stands. The source is enclosed in a walk-in house. The flowing stream is used in a dammed basin for treading water and flows into the Bachhaupter Laber after about 180 m . The spring water is said to have a healing effect, since it is believed that in 1672 it was the cause of the sudden recovery of the deadly ill tower woman .
After the second healing of a foot ailment in 1691, she had the spring house built in honor of St. Sebastian . Many pilgrims still drink the water from Sebastian's spring today, believing in protection from disease.
