SecondCity (also Second City or Secondcity , born January 28, 1987 in Chicago ; real name Rowan John Harrington ) is a deep house DJ and producer from London.

biography

SecondCity aka Rowan Harrington was born in the United States and moved to England with his parents when he was twelve. There he attended school in East Grinstead near London. In his early twenties he started making music on the side, and in his mid-twenties he gave up his job and started doing music professionally. First he was part of the house duo Taiki & Nulight , before he also released solo pieces under different names. His stage name Second City is derived from a name for his native Chicago , which was long the second (second largest) city in the United States.

SecondCity was discovered on the Internet. After he released his debut EP The Story in June 2013 , making it into Beatport's deep house top ten , DJs like Skream and Zane Lowe noticed him and spread his music. As a result, his piece I Wanna Feel was viewed over 300,000 times on both YouTube and its Soundcloud page. On May 25, 2014 the song was released as a single by Ministry of Sound and Speakerbox and immediately rose to number one in the UK charts . The song contains the line "I wanna feel your heart and soul inside of me" from You Makin 'Me High by Toni Braxton (1996) as a sample. SecondCity's musical style is a mix of Chicago House and UK Garage .
