The Secondos program at the University of Regensburg is aimed at students who grew up in Germany with a second linguistic and cultural background.
“ Secondos ” is a term used in Switzerland and describes the descendants of immigrants in the second or subsequent generation.
The program gives students the opportunity to develop the potential of their bicultural background during their studies at the University of Regensburg and to use it for their professional and personal future.
In particular, the Secondos program can be combined with all Bachelor programs at the University of Regensburg. Students attend language and regional studies courses during their studies and are prepared for the most important phase of the program, namely the stay abroad at the partner university in their home country. At the end of your studies you will receive a secondos certificate in addition to your bachelor's degree. It certifies that they have the best intercultural training and experience. Students in master’s courses or state examination subjects can also benefit from various offers of the program.
Students who are not secondos but have a strong interest in one of the partner countries in other ways can also take part.
Currently (2014) the program is offered to students with a background in Croatia , Poland , Romania , Russia , Ukraine and Hungary . The inclusion of further countries is planned.
