Seehof (desert, Euerfeld)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Seehof (also Sehof ) is a deserted village in the district of Dettelbacher district in your field in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen. The desert existed until the 15th century, the reasons for its dissolution are unclear.

Geographical location

The localization of Seehof proves to be difficult due to the land consolidation in the 1960s and 1970s. Several sources locate the farm in the district of Euerfeld on the street "gein Selgenstat", today's Gut Seligenstadt . The exact determination of the location is made more difficult by other sources in which the village of Lugshofen in the west of the Euerfeld district , which has also disappeared, is associated with the Seehof. The corridors Seeweg, Seewiesen and Seerain are still located near Euerfeld today .

history

Seehof was first mentioned in a document in 1388. At that time it belonged to the estates of the bishopric in Euerfeld and was described as follows: "(...) the Sehof, the flecken do the courtyard and the hus vf stent (...)". The same document also describes the eponymous lakes in the hallway around the courtyard. They were on the way to Seligenstadt and were divided up due to frequent property disputes.

The lakes were mentioned again in 1405. Prince-Bishop Johann I von Egloffstein zu Würzburg presented the Uffenheim citizen Götz Fürbringer with a lake "zum Seehofe". In 1428 the lake was enlarged on behalf of the Neumünster Monastery in Würzburg , with meadows from the Euerfeld district being flooded. Seehof was mentioned again in 1434. The courtyard was mentioned for the last time in 1470 and the corridor with the two lakes was described. The residents probably left him soon after.
