Seela Sella
Seela Maini Marjatta Sella (* the thirtieth December 1936 in Tampere as Seela Maini Marjatta Virtanen ) is a Finnish actress .
Life
Seela Sella completed her acting studies at the Helsinki Theater Academy in 1959 . Already during her studies she played theater and was then employed at several theaters. So she played at the Tampere Workers' Theater , the Tampereen Komediateatteri and the Teatteri Jurkka .
After being regularly seen in various television productions from the early 1960s, she made her debut on screen in 1975 with the love comedy The Man Who Couldn't Say No, directed by Risto Jarva . Since then she has appeared in over 100 film and television productions, with frequent guest appearances and supporting roles. With her performances in Kalteva torni , Pikkusisar and Yksinpuhuja , she was nominated three times for the national film award Jussi for best supporting actress. For the latter, the drama Yksinpuhuja directed by Timo Humaloja , she received an award.
During her acting career, she embodied Aino Sibelius , the wife of the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, in three different films . She played it for the first time in the literary film adaptation of Axel, directed by Anssi Blomstedt in 1990 . She played Aino Sibelius for the second time in the 2003 biopic Sibelius . Her last portrayal was in the 2005 television film Puhtaaksikirjoittaja .
Seela Sella was married to the actor Elis Sella from 1962 until his death in 1992 . For him she converted to Judaism . She has two children with him, a son and a daughter.
