Soul ( Russian Душа , Transkr . : Duscha ) is a Soviet musical film drama from 1981 with Sofia Rotaru in the leading role, as well as Mikhail Bojarski and the band Maschina Wremeni ( time machine ). The screenplay was written by Aleksandr Borodyanski and directed by Alexander Stefanowitsch. The film became a blockbuster in the Soviet Union in 1981, where it was seen by 57 million moviegoers.
action
The story takes place by the sea near the real house of Sofia in Yalta and in Germany, as well as at international song festivals, in which Sofia Rotaru also took part.
The heroine learns before an international song festival that she can lose her voice due to an illness. A friend helps her avoid this situation. The main role of the film - Viktoria Swobodina, played by Sofia Rotaru - decides on a new style of music and wins the "Grand Prix" at the festival.
background
The film uses rock songs of a musical style that was new in the Soviet Union at the time, which are sung mainly by the singer Sofia Rotaru and in part by Mikhail Boyarsky and Maschina Wremeni. In addition, Seele contains some philosophical dialogues with self-criticism by the artists as well as existential approaches to the philosophy of the golden mean , which weighs up between artistic creationism and respect for human dignity. In the film, there is a scene that is considered the first Soviet music video, with Sofia Rotaru and Mikhail Boyarsky jumping on a trampoline in gold stretch fabric.
In December 2001, before the opening of Sofia Rotaru's Moscow concert program Mein Leben - Meine Liebe , the DVD version of the film was released, which was number 5 in sales in Russia.
