Zülpich lake park
The Seepark Zülpich is a more than 20 hectare leisure park in Zülpich , which is located on the former site of the Zülpich 2014 Horticultural Show .
The park has been permanently open to visitors since mid-December 2014 and March 2015. The park is operated by Seepark Zülpich gGmbH.

Seepark Zülpich has two spatially separate areas: the Seepark, located on the water sports lake, and the Park am Wallgraben, which is located directly on the historic city wall.
Lake park
With a size of around 20 hectares, the Seepark forms the main part of the Seepark and is subject to entry today. After the state horticultural show, the site was closed for renovation work and was reopened on March 28, 2015.
In contrast to other comparable state horticultural shows, the show gardens were permanently preserved in the form of a national model garden exhibition. Large events take place regularly in the Seepark, such as the "Jump im Park" bouncy castle festival, the Beach Magic Festival, the kite festival and the beach lighting. The park at the Wallgraben is the scene of the "Luminous Gardens" every year.
In the Seepark, in addition to the model garden exhibition that emerged from the show gardens, the lake stage and the seaside resort with its sandy beach, there are a number of other attractions, for example a pirate climbing ship, aqua park, giant jumping cushions, giant swings, water playground, adventure golf and boat rental . The absolute highlight in the Seepark is the one in the Flying Fox Park. In the only climbing and zip line park of its kind in the city triangle Cologne-Bonn-Aachen, visitors can fly through the Seepark and over the water sports lake at up to 40 km / h.
Park at the moat
The former garden show site Park am Wallgraben is divided into two areas. In contrast to the Seepark, the remaining park on Wallgraben is significantly smaller than during the state horticultural show, as some of the properties between the vineyard and the horticultural garden are privately owned and were only made available as an exhibition area during the state horticultural show.
- Landesburg area to Weiertor
In the area from the Landesburg to the historic Weiertor, almost all the attractions of the former garden show have been preserved. In particular, the church garden, the castle's playground, the Rosarium Tolbiacum -called Rose Garden , the orchard with serpentine , as well as numerous works of art and sculptures have survived or were only marginally dismantled. The area from the Landesburg to the Weiertor is extensively fenced so that it can be locked at night or during special events that are subject to a fee. The part of the park at Wallgraben has been open all year round from 9:00 a.m. to dusk since December 24, 2014.
- Weiertor area to Bachtor
In the second part of the former garden show grounds between the Weiertor and the Bachtor, the park is open as a public green area with private allotment gardens. The vineyard , the event meadow and the leisure garden near the former cemetery gardener exhibition were also preserved after the state horticultural show. In the spring of 2015, a playground was built on the site of the former catering tent, which can also be used as a football field.
Historical old city
Although the historic old town of Zülpich was not part of the exhibition area of the Zülpich 2014 State Garden Show , the city administration is increasingly including this area in the marketing concept of the new Seepark. Attractions include historical places such as the Mühlenberg , the Käsmarkt , the Kinat intersection and the medieval market square.
In the Mühlenberg area there are two museums in close proximity, the Zülpich Roman thermal baths and the Zülpich history workshop , as well as the observation tower of the Landesburg and the parish church of St. Peter. The inn chapel is a special attraction at the Käsmarkt. In addition to the historic town hall with its bell tower, there are also two fountains on the market square and the paper makers' fountain on the Kinat .
Also worth seeing in the historical old town are the four medieval city gates and the almost completely preserved medieval city wall.
