Mehmet Sefa Gaye (born November 22, 1994 in Hohenems ) is an Austrian football player .
Career
Gaye started his career at VfB Hohenems . In May 2010 he made his debut for the Hohenems first team in the regional league when he came on as a substitute for Marcelo Pinho Santos Souza on matchday 30 of the 2009/10 season against the amateurs of SCR Altach in the 73rd minute. His first goal in the Regionalliga he scored in the same month in a 9-3 defeat against FC Hard . At the end of the season he was relegated with the club from the regional league. In 2011 they were relegated from the fourth-class Vorarlbergliga .
For the 2013/14 season, Gaye moved to the third-rate amateurs of SCR Altach, for which he was used in two seasons in 52 games and scored eleven goals. For the 2015/16 season he returned to fourth-class VfB Hohenems, with whom he was promoted to the regional league at the end of the season.
For the 2016/17 season he moved to the Swiss SC Brühl St. Gallen in the Promotion League . He made his debut there in August 2016 when he was brought into play for Michael Scherrer in the 81st minute against SC Young Fellows Juventus on the first day of that season . In the same month he scored his first goal for Brühl in a 3-1 defeat against the U-21 team of FC Basel .
In the summer of 2017 he returned to Hohenems in Austria, for which he played 19 regional league games in the 2017/18 season and scored ten goals. For the 2018/19 season, Gaye moved to Turkey for fourth division club Karaköprü Belediyespor . He made his first game in the TFF 3rd Lig in September 2018 when he came on as a substitute for Bilal Şeflek in the 73rd minute against Batman Petrolspor on the first day of that season .
In August 2019, he moved to Liechtenstein for USV Eschen-Mauren, who played in the fourth Swiss league .
