Segbroek is a district of The Hague (officially also 's-Gravenhage ) and lies between Scheveningen in the north, Loosduinen in the south and the city center in the east.

traffic

Some of the most important streets are the Segbroeklaan and Laan van Meerdervoort, both of which lead into the center of The Hague. In the east, the Afvoerkanaal runs from the port to the city center, but it is of no importance for shipping. The district is connected to the tram network by tram lines 11 and 12 of Haagsche Tramweg Maatschappij and line 3 of Randstad Rail . The HTM bus lines 13, 14 and 24 also run through the area. An important junction is the Laan van Meerdervoort, where lines 3, 12, 13 and 14 operate.

structure

In the south and north there are larger green spaces, the Oud- and Nieuw Eikeduinen cemeteries in the south and the Rode Kruis Plantsoen in the north. There is also the HagaZiekenhuis , which is made up of the Rode Kruis Ziekenhuis (Red Cross Hospital) and the Juliana Kinderziekenhuis (Juliana Children's Hospital) hospitals. The district also has a large number of historical buildings, especially in the Valkenboskwartier. A canal also flows through this area. The Art Nouveau high-rise buildings on Larixstraat are particularly interesting. The district also has several shopping streets. Most of the shops in this district are on Fahrenheitstraat and Edisonstraat.
