The Segeberger Kliniken are academic teaching hospitals of the Universities of Kiel, Lübeck and Hamburg.

history

The company was founded in 1974 as a pure health clinic for heart diseases. Several private shareholders had decided to make this investment. In 1978 the name was changed to a rehabilitation clinic and the specialist area expanded to include neurological and psychosomatic patients. In 1980, a left heart catheter measuring station was opened as the first clinic in Schleswig-Holstein, and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty was introduced eight years later .

At the end of the 1980s, the company was jointly sold to the then HR manager and deputy managing director Marlies Borchert and the head physician of the heart center, Prof. Humann, through a management buy-out process. The name was changed to Segeberger Kliniken GmbH . When the takeover began, several major investment measures were made: in 1991 the establishment of cardiac surgery, in 1994 the opening of the neurological center with 300 rehab beds, and in 2000 the opening of the 4-star business hotel VITALIA Seehotel. In 2003 the Segeberger Kliniken took over the Südholstein-Klinikum in Bad Segeberg with 230 beds. The general hospital with the clinics of gynecology and obstetrics , anesthesia , internal medicine , surgery and urology as well as radiology is now integrated into the group as the general clinic.

offer
