Segundo Serrano Poncela
Segundo Serrano Poncela (born 1912 in Madrid ; † December 9, 1976 in Caracas ) was a Spanish politician and author . He was also a professor at the Universities of Puerto Rico and “Simón Bolívar” Caracas .
Act as a politician
Serrano Poncela was a member of the Juventudes Socialistas de España , as well as the Communist Party of Spain . Serrano Poncela spent a large part of his life in exile , as he fought on the side of the Republic against the fascists under Francisco Franco during the Spanish Civil War and had to expect persecution during his dictatorship, so that he left Spain in 1939. During the war he was mainly involved in the defense of Madrid and was a member of the Junta de Defensa de Madrid as a delegate for public order.
