Seiichirō Nakagawa (born June 7, 1979 in Kumamoto ) is a former Japanese track cyclist who specialized in the short-term disciplines in track cycling.

Athletic career

In 2013, Seiichirō Nakagawa became the Japanese champion in the 1000-meter time trial . At the Southeast Asian Games in the same year he won silver in the sprint . At the Asian Games in 2014 he won the sprint competition and together with Tomoyuki Kawabata and Kazunari Watanabe took third place in the team sprint . In qualifying for the sprint over 200 meters, he set a new game record with 9.942 seconds. At the Asian Championships he won two medals, silver in the sprint and bronze in the team sprint (with Kazunari Watanabe and Yudai Nitta ). Two years later he won bronze again in the team sprint at the Asian Championships (with Kazunari Watanabe and Kazuki Amagai ).

2012 Nakagawa took part in the Olympic Games in London together with Watanabe and Nitta in the team sprint competition; the trio finished eighth. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he was 25th in the sprint.
