The Neckar Canal Horkheim is a side canal of the Neckar , which branches off to the right at Neckar kilometer 120. The backwater of the river is regulated by the Horkheim weir and flows here on the left past the municipality of Nordheim. The canal leads the majority of the river's water volume to the barrage and the hydroelectric power station in Horkheim. Shortly below the Horkheim lock with the power station (around kilometer 117), the two arms reunite to form one stream.
