Selfkant-Mühlenstrasse
The Selfkant-Mühlenstraße is a themed route that connects several historical mills in the Selfkant landscape , located in the Heinsberg district , the westernmost district in Germany.
The route, which is around 25 km long, is primarily designed as a cycle path , but can also be explored by car or on foot. Mühlenstraße is signposted with an index sign (see picture) . It can also be experienced with the junction signpost system from the NRW cycle network . A board with the route guidance and a box with removable flyers is attached to each mill.

Sightseeing
The mills are regularly open to visitors and interested parties
- on the German Mill Day (Whit Monday) and
- on the day of the open monument (2nd Sunday in September).
In addition, the Historical Mills Association in Selfkant eV offers interested visitor groups of 10 or more individual guided tours with explanations and demonstrations. When the miller or the members of the association are at work in the mill, individual visitors are always welcome.
