Blessed Bamberger ( Yiddish הרב פינחס (זליג) הלוי במברגר haRaw Pinchas (Selig) Bamberger , also Selig Pinchas Halevi Bamberger; born on November 7, 1872 in Lengnau ; died August 9, 1936 in Hamburg ) was a rabbi and Jewish scholar in Hamburg who translated a number of basic books on Judaism into German . Blessed Bamberger was born in Cheschwan in Lengnau AG / Switzerland as the son of Rabbi Shlomo Bamberger (שלמה במברגר) and Lea. Eagle born; Seligmann Bär Bamberger was his grandfather. In 1895 he obtained his doctorate in philosophy at the University of Heidelberg with his scientific edition of Maimonides' commentary on the Challah mixed natractic , which also contained his translation into German.

In 1896 he was ordained a rabbi by the chairman of the Beth Midrash, Rabbi Esriel Hildesheimer in Berlin .

From 1900 he worked as a rabbi at the Hamburg synagogues Alte Klaus (הקלויז הישן) and Neue Klaus (הקלויז החדש). He also taught at the synagogue community teaching house and was Av Beth Din, chairman of the Beth Din ("Rabbinical Court"). He fulfilled these tasks for 36 years until his death. He also published.

He died in Hamburg in August 1936 and was buried next to his first wife in the Langenfelde Jewish cemetery in Hamburg. In 1989 his remains were buried next to the grave of his second wife on the Jerusalem Mount of Olives (הר הזיתים).
