action

Marge overslept while Homer took care of the children and Grandpa. Since Bart didn't get a lunch break because of that, he thinks up a scary story to scare the other children and get their food. His story is about a chef named "Dark Stanley" who is said to have worked in the school cafeteria. Because the children teased him, he murdered them and made soup out of their heads. During the lunch break, Bart completes his prank and gets the frightened children's lunch. They run through town in panic and have to be caught again by caretaker Willy.

After checking the completeness of the students, it turned out that Willy caught seven children too many. It is the offspring of the hillbilly Cletus Spuckler who previously received home schooling . Since they did not learn anything, but admission to school would push the average grade below the limit for federal funding, Lisa is to take over the lessons for the Spuckler children. Since Lisa is initially unsuccessful with classical teaching methods, she decides to show her students the life in the city on an excursion.

Meanwhile, Bart is supposed to see a psychiatrist because of his prank, which of course he initially refuses. The psychiatrist Dr. With a few tricks, Swanson succeeds in gaining Bart's attention and trust, and therapy works. Since the school only paid for five sessions, the therapy has to be stopped, which hits Bart hard.

During Lisa's outing, she sings a song with her protégés. Krusty the clown smells a deal and takes the Spuckler children under contract. Cletus signs without understanding the content. The children appear in the Krusty Show and are presented there as backwoodsmen. Lisa does not want to accept that the children of Krusty and Cletus are exploited and kept away from school again.

Marge uses her savings to finance another session with Dr. Swanson, for realizing the severity of dropping out of therapy on Bart. After this session, Bart feels healed, now it's Dr. Swanson, who suffers from the sudden end of therapy. She even enlisted the help of a colleague, alluding to the fact that her child was one of "Dark Stanley's" victims, and Bart's story of lies is apparently true.

Lisa manages to get Cletus' wife Brandine from Iraq , where she was stationed as a soldier. She confronts Cletus and ends the contractual relationship between Krusty and her family. The contract is ineffective because Cletus is only the father of the two most untalented children anyway.
