Semiha Borovac (born March 2, 1955 in Sarajevo ) is a Bosnian politician ( SDA ).

Life

Semiha Borovac graduated from the University of Sarajevo with a degree in law in 1977 .

From 1983 to 1996 she worked in various functions in the administration of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo . From 1996 to 2000 she was Deputy Minister of Justice of the Sarajevo Canton . From 1998 to 2000 she was a member of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and from 2000 to 2005 the Chamber of Deputies of Bosnia and Herzegovina .

On June 14, 2005, she was elected mayor of Sarajevo. In 2009, the social democrat Alija Behmen was elected her successor. From 2010 to 2015 she was coordinator for the reform of the public administration of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Since March 2015 she has been a member of the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina as Minister for Civil Rights and Refugees.

Semiha Borovac is married and has two daughters.
