Krašov transmitter

The transmitter Krašov (Czech Vysílač Krašov or Plzeň-Krašov ) is a transmission mast for the distribution of TV and FM radio programs on the Zámecký vrch (Pernglauberg; 711 m) in the Tepler highlands between Krašov and Bezvěrov , in the Pilsen region in the Czech Republic .

history

The 347.5 meter high, guyed transmission mast is the second tallest structure in the Czech Republic and was built from 1979 to 1981 as a replacement for the old 305 meter high transmission mast.

The old mast with a height of 305 m was erected in 1960, had a triangular cross-section and was guyed in three directions at heights of 60, 128, 206 and 285 meters. At a height of 285 meters there was a measuring booth, above which the antenna carrier with the television transmission antennas followed at a height of 291 meters. It collapsed in 1979 due to icing and some damage it received during the Prague Spring on August 25, 1968.

On July 28, 2008, the broadcast of DVB-T began.
