The Rimavská Sobota transmitter is a radio transmitter for short and medium wave , it is located 8 kilometers (as the crow flies) east-northeast of Rimavská Sobota in the municipality of Uzovská Panica in Slovakia .
While the mean-wave transmitter , which has since been shut down and operated at 1017 kHz , was relatively small with a power of 40 kW, the short-wave transmitter system , whose towers with a height of up to 171 exceed other similar systems, is currently from NEXUS-IBA with 150 kW in use.
