San Silvestro transmitter

The San Silvestro transmitter is a basic network transmitter of the RAI and is located on the Colle San Silvestro near the city of Pescara . The transmitter is located about 3 kilometers from the urban area and covers large parts of Abruzzo , including Vasto and San Salvo .

geography

The transmitter is located on a 135 m high hill between the district of San Silvestro and Francavilla . The respective programs are broadcast from a broadcast tower of the RAI, as well as two other private broadcast towers, which are shared by Mediaset , Wind and Vodafone .

Another transmission tower is located about 1 km southwest in the Contrada Casone .

Range

Due to its exposed location, the broadcast programs can be received in large parts of the Abruzzo region. To the west, the range is severely restricted by the Maiella massif.

In Pescara, programs from the San Silvestro site as well as those from the Maiella station, 30 kilometers away, can be received.
