player
Six “legends” of snooker were set for the main tournament. The two remaining places went to the winners of two qualifying tournaments.
Seeded players
The invited players were ranked according to the number of their world championship titles , the number of triple-crown victories - and ranked tournaments. Since Stephen Hendry could not take part in the tournament due to contractual obligations in China, he was replaced by Steve Davis . Davis, who actually did not want to participate in any tournaments after retiring in 2016, announced that this was just an exception and that he would not play any more tournaments afterwards.

The first tournament was held in Cookstown from November 3rd to 5th, 2017 . The Northern Irishman Julian Logue won there in the final against his compatriot Patrick Wallace 3-2. However, since Logue could not compete for personal reasons, he was replaced by Wallace as a finalist of the tournament.
The second qualifier was played in Carlow on November 25th and 26th . Here Jonathan Bagley was able to defeat Gary Filtness 3-0 in an English final.
Tournament course
The games were played in the quarter and semi-finals in best-of-5 mode , the final was decided over a maximum of seven frames. Instead of a whole decision frame , as is usually the case, only the black ball was placed again in this tournament ( re-spotted black ). The players only had 30 seconds for a push.
