Sepp Kuss (born September 13, 1994 in Durango , Colorado ) is an American cyclist .

Athletic career

After Kuss initially devoted himself exclusively to mountain biking , Kuss concentrated more and more on road cycling and developed into a mountain specialist in this discipline. He rode for the US UCI Continental Team Rally Cycling in 2016 and 2017 and achieved his first international success with victory on the second stage of the Tour de Beauce in 2016.

Then Kuss switched to the Dutch UCI WorldTeam Lotto NL-Jumbo in 2018 . In his first year there, he won the overall classification of the Tour of Utah , a stage race hors categorie , in which he also won three daily sections and the mountain classification . He contested his first Grand Tour with the Vuelta a España in 2018 , which he finished in 65th. The Vuelta a España in 2019 drove kiss as helpers of the later overall winner Primož Roglič . In this capacity, he received the order to join a larger breakaway group on the mountainous 15th stage, from which he then separated seven kilometers before the mountain finish and became the stage winner.
