Sepp Skalitzky

Sepp Skalitzky (actually Josef ; born January 30, 1901 in Rothenbaum near Neuern ( Bohemian Forest ), † September 5, 1992 in Memmingen ) was a German poet and narrator, a teacher by profession. He last worked as a senior teacher at the Bismarck School in Memmingen, an eight-grade elementary school. He traditionally taught first and second grades for Catholic boys there. His special love was local studies, which was a regular school subject at the time. With up to 50 children in his school class, he went on many excursions to the nearby old town and also to the area around Memmingen.

He is considered the last poet of the German Bohemian Forest ; His works include stories, poems and novels, including The Homeless Savior , The Forest Began To Roar , The Boys From The Bohemian Forest , From The Bohemian Forest To Swabia .
