Career
Warriner began his career with the Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League and was the first round draft pick of the Nordiques de Québec in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft , which selected him as fourth overall. However, he did not complete a game for his draft team, as he was transferred to the Toronto Maple Leafs in June 1994 in the swap deal that also brought Mats Sundin to Toronto . After his junior years with the Spitfires and their league rivals Kitchener Rangers , the winger moved to the St. John's Maple Leafs in the American Hockey League for the 1994/95 season . At the same time he made his NHL debut for Toronto. In his further career Warriner played for the Tampa Bay Lightning , the Phoenix Coyotes , the Vancouver Canucks , the Philadelphia Flyers and the Nashville Predators in the National Hockey League . On February 13, 1999, the Canadian scored the first goal as a player in the Toronto Maple Leafs in the newly opened Air Canada Center as a player in the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In 2003 Warriner decided to move to Europe and initially played in the Finnish SM-liiga for Jokerit Helsinki and in the Swiss National League B for Forward Morges HC . From 2005 the attacker played in the DEL, first for the Hanover Scorpions and from autumn 2007 for the Kölner Haie, with whom he won the runner-up in the first season together.
