The Serajoedal Stoomtram Maatschappij (SDS or SDSM, Dutch for Serayutal -Dampfstraßenbahngesellschaft, Indonesian also Perusahaan Kereta Uap Lembah Serayu , Serayutal steam railway company ) was a railway company whose path crossed the Serayutal and Mao about Patikraja , Purwokerto , Sokaraja , Purbalingga , Klampok , Mandiraja , Associated Banjarnegara with Wonosobo .
history
The company was founded in 1894 after RH Eysonius de Waal and OJA Repelaer van Driel had obtained concessions in 1893 and 1894 to build and operate a steam tramway.
The construction of the line was carried out in three phases. The construction of the line cost 1,500,000 guilders, financed by Financiele Maatschappij van Nijverheidsondernemingen in Ned. Indies . The project was led by the engineer C. Groll. The railway line was built on the basis of Dutch economic interests by providing fast and cheap transportation to Dutch government companies, particularly sugar factories.
The line was closed in sections from 1978 to 1980. The property, formerly owned by SDS and later by PT Kereta Api Indonesia , belonged to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Indonesia from the 1980s until regional autonomy in 2001 and to the Central Java Province Transport Department from 2001 to 2006.
