Serchhip is a city in the Indian state of Mizoram .
The city is the capital of the Serchhip district . Serchhip has town status . The city is divided into 6 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had 21,158 inhabitants, of which 10,777 were men and 10,381 women. Christians make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 95%. Hindus form a minority of over 3%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 98.3% and thus well above the national average. 93.3% of the population belong to the Scheduled Tribes .
