Serge Hazanavicius (born September 11, 1963 in Paris , France ) is a French actor . He is the older brother of Oscar winner Michel Hazanavicius .

biography

Serge Hazanavicius was born into a Jewish family of Polish - Lithuanian origin. His parents survived World War II as children in France by going into hiding. Hazanavicius grew up with his younger brother Michel (* 1967) in his hometown of Paris. Although his uncle is a sound engineer by profession , he came from a family that had little contact with the film business. He studied acting at the EDA , among others with Yves Pignot . He then played theater and only made his debut in 1993 in the drama Crazy - After Love, directed by Laurence Ferreira Barbosa , alongside Valeria Bruni Tedeschi , Melvil Poupaud and Sandrine Kiberlain on the screen.
