Sergei Nikolajewitsch Firsanow ( Russian Сергей Николаевич Фирсанов ; born July 3, 1982 in Velikije Luki ) is a Russian cyclist .

Athletic career

Sergei Firsanow began his career in 2005 with the Latvian cycling team Rietumu Bank after winning the U23 Giro della Toscana . In 2006 he then switched to the Russian Continental Team Premier , where he only stayed six months and then went back to Rietumu Bank. This season he won a stage each in the Tour of Bulgaria , where he was also overall runner-up , and in the Bałtyk-Karkonosze Tour . In 2007 he won the one-day race Memorial Oleg Dyachenko .

Until 2016, Firsanow won the overall ranking of a stage race every year : in 2008 he won Way to Pekin , in 2009 La Boucle de l'Artois and the Ringerike Grand Prix , in 2010 and 2011 Five Rings of Moscow , in 2012 the Vuelta a la Comunidad de Madrid , 2013 the Tour of Kavkaz , 2015 the Grand Prix Adygeja and 2016 the Settimana Internazionale and the one-day race Giro dell'Appennino . Also in 2016 he started the Giro for the first time and finished 30th in the overall ranking.
