Sergei Janin ( Russian Сергей Янин ; born October 14, 1953 ) is a former Soviet ski jumper .

Career

Janin made his international debut at the Four Hills Tournament 1971/72 . After he achieved only a weak result with 65th place in the opening competition on the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck , he could not prevail in the New Year's competition in Garmisch-Partenkirchen as 64th. Only in Oberstdorf on the Schattenbergschanze he was able to improve significantly with 37th place. At the final competition in Bischofshofen , Janin achieved the best individual tour result with 25th place on the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze . In the overall ranking he was tied with Max Golser in 41st place with 793 points .

A little later Janin started for the Soviet Union at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo . From the large hill he reached the 21st place after jumps on 89 and 87 meters.
