Sergei Nikolajewitsch Pyschjanow ( Russian Серге́й Никола́евич Пыжья́нов ; born October 24, 1960 in Kem , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian sports shooter .
successes
Sergei Pyshyanov took part in the Olympic Games three times . In 1980 he took sixth place in Moscow with the Free Pistol with 564 points. At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he competed for the United Team in two disciplines. With the free pistol he reached 16th place, while with the air pistol he reached the final with 584 points as third. In this he scored 100.1 more points and took silver with a total of 684.1 points behind Wang Yifu . Also in 1996 he qualified for the finals in Atlanta with the air pistol. With 683.5 points he stayed 0.3 points behind third-placed Tanju Kirjakow and thus missed another medal win as fourth.
Sergei Pyshyanov was world champion eleven times . In 1986 he won the titles in the individual and team competitions with the free pistol and the standard pistol team in Suhl. Three years later he was successful in the same position with the air pistol in individual and team competitions. In 1990, he won individual titles in Moscow with the large-bore pistol and in team competitions with the air pistol, rapid-fire pistol and large-bore pistol. In addition, he secured bronze with the free pistol in the individual and silver with the team. A year later he defended his title with the air pistol team in Stavanger . In 1994 Pyshyanov won another title in Milan with the large-caliber pistol team and silver with the team with the free pistol. He won his last world championship medal in Barcelona in 1998 when he finished second in the team competition with the large-caliber pistol.
Pyshyanov is divorced and has two children.
