Sergei Redkin

Sergei Redkin (Russian: Сергей Редькин, born October 27, 1991 in Krasnoyarsk ) is a Russian pianist .

Sergei Redkin received lessons at the Krasnoyarsk State Music and Theater Academy at the age of six. From 2004 he studied at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory , initially at the Special Music School, and from 2009 to 2015 he studied regularly piano with Alexander Sandler and composition with Alexander Mnazakanjan . He also completed studies at the International Piano Academy Lake Como with Dmitri Bashkirow , Peter Frankl and Fou Ts'ong, among others .

Redkin is the winner of numerous international competitions. These include the Paderewsky Competition in Poland (2010), the Maj Lind Piano Competition in Helsinki (2012) and the Prokofjev Piano Competition in Saint Petersburg (2013). In 2015 he won 3rd prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. In 2017 he was awarded the 2nd prize at the Kissinger Piano Olympics .

Redkin has performed with various orchestras around the world, including in Paris, New York and Mexico in 2016 and at the Lucerne Festival in 2017 , both with the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra under Valery Gergiev .
