Sergei Viktorovich Karakajew ( Russian Сергей Викторович Каракаев ; born June 4, 1961 in Ivano- Slyusarevskoye , Kushchovskaya district , Krasnodar region ) is a Russian colonel-general , doctor of military science and strategic missile commander since 2010 .

Life

Karakayev graduated from Rostov Military Engineering College in 1983 . He began his career with the missile forces as an engineer and deputy group commander. In 1994 he graduated from the commanding faculty of the Dzerzhinsky Military Academy. After various posts as chief of staff and commander of a missile regiment, he was promoted to commander of a missile division in Koselsk on September 21, 1998 . In 2004 he completed a correspondence course at the North-West Academy for Public Service, a branch of the Russian Academy for Economics and Public Service in Saint Petersburg, and was deployed on April 1, 2006 as commander of the 27th Guard Missile Army in Vladimir . After Karakayev graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2009, he served as chief of staff of the missile forces . By Presidential Decree No. 772 of June 22, 2010, he was appointed Commander of the Strategic Missile Forces.

Karakajew is married and has a son and a daughter.
