Sergent Garcia (also Sargento Garcia ) is a Spanish-French band around the musician Bruno Garcia. Sergent Garcia mixes reggae , salsa , African rhythms and a little rock ; all of this mostly in Spanish, occasionally also in English.

history

In 1983 Garcia founded a punk band (Ludwig von 88) with which he was only moderately successful. Garcia is French, but comes from a Spanish family and therefore began in 1996 to mix Latin American salsa music with punk and thus produced his debut album Viva el Sargento in 1997 . Tours through Spain and France and further releases brought the band great commercial success. The group now consists of many musicians: Pedrito Lucas ( piano ), François Colpin, Ivan Darroman Montoya, Don Toto Ostro ( percussions ), Julien Charlet ( drums ), Duniesky Conyedo Gutierrez (vocals), David Aubaile ( flute ), Michel Feugère, Fabrice Martinez, Gilles Garin, Julien Chirol, Simon Andrieux (wind instruments) and Vince Jogerst (Moog).
