(876) Scott is an asteroid of the main belt , which on June 20 in 1917 by the Austrian astronomer Johann Palisa in Vienna was discovered.

For a long time, the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott was the eponym. In reality, the asteroid was named after a donor named E. Scott .
