Sergio Bueno (born July 4, 1962 in Colima , Colima ) is a Mexican football coach and former player on the position of defender .

Life

player

His first game in the Mexican Primera División played Bueno on February 5, 1984 in the 4-1 victory of his Coyotes against Puebla FC , in which he was substituted on a few minutes before the end.

After the first division license from Deportivo Neza had been sold to the Correcaminos de la UAT after the 1987/88 season , Bueno moved to CF Atlante , with whom he was under contract for the next two years and with whom he ended the 1989/90 season had to accept relegation to the second division . He then moved to the promoted Querétaro FC , with whom he again had to accept a sporting descent at the end of the 1993/94 season.

Bueno experienced the greatest success of his active career in the 1995/96 season, when he reached the finals against Necaxa with his club Atlético Celaya and became runner-up. However, the share of the now 33-year-old in this success was minimal, as he only made seven appearances in the entire season and was not used during the entire second half of the season (including the play-offs ). In the following season 1996/97 he ended his active career in the dress of Puebla FC .

Trainer

After his active career, Bueno began working as head coach and initially looked after his former club Atlético Celaya in the 2001/02 season. His greatest success so far as a coach he experienced in the 2007/08 season at the second division León AC , with whom he won the second division championship of Clausura in 2008, but was defeated in the subsequent promotion finals against the champions of Apertura 2007 ( Indios de Ciudad Juárez ) and therefore not made the long-awaited return of the Esmeraldas to the first division. His biggest failure as a coach so far was relegation with Necaxa at the end of the 2010/11 season .

Individual evidence

  1. Match report Neza vs Puebla 4: 1 on February 5, 1984 ( Memento from July 14, 2012 in the web archive archive.today )
Note: It should be noted that the result given in the heading (0: 0) is just as wrong as the Club name of the home team; because the Toros first played in the first division in 1993/94. In fact, it was Deportivo "Coyotes" Neza.
