Sergio Elías Ortiz

Sergio Elías Ortiz (born May 8, 1894 in Pasto , † February 11, 1978 in Bogotá ) was a Colombian historian and conservative politician .

Ortiz was Rector of the Universidad de Nariño , Member of the Lower House of the Colombian Congress and Secretary for Life of the Narinos Academy of History .

Ortiz dedicated most of his writings to the local and regional history of his homeland. His estate Fondo Sergio Elías Ortíz (FSEO) is in the library of the María Goretti College in Pasto .
