Sergio Ferrari (soccer player)

Sergio Ferrari (born September 17, 1943 in Oggiono , † April 2, 2016 in Lecco ) was an Italian football player .

Athletic career

Ferrari moved up in 1962 after the relegation of Calcio Lecco from Serie A to the competition team. In 1966 he succeeded with the club of promotion, which was followed by relegation after only one season. He then moved to AS Roma within the top Italian division after 69 games in which he had scored three goals . Here he played in 41 league games in the following two years, and he was granted one goal. In 1969 he won under coach Helenio Herrera at the side of players like Joaquín Peiró , Fabio Capello , Renato Cappellini , Sergio Santarini and Luciano Spinosi the Coppa Italia, which was played in a four-man final .

In 1969 Ferrari moved to Hellas Verona , where he played against relegation for three years. In 1972 he moved to Serie B for US Catanzaro . In 1974 he moved on within the second division to Novara Calcio , in 1977 he was relegated to the club. He later ended his career in Serie C with the US Alessandria Calcio .
