Sergio Rigoni (born April 27, 1986 in Asiago ) is an Italian cross-country skier .

Career

Rigoni took part in the cross-country alpine cup in Dobbiaco for the first time in December 2005 and came in 78th place over 15 km freestyle and 74th place over 10 km classic. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2006 in Kranj , he finished 57th over 10 km classic and 31st place in the skiathlon . In the 2008/09 season he achieved five top ten placements in the Alpine Cup and thus reached eighth place in the overall standings. In February 2009 he made his debut in Valdidentro in the cross-country skiing world cup , where he finished 66th in the sprint and 65th place over 15 km classic. In the 2016/17 season he finished in the top ten nine times in the Alpencup. He achieved his first podium positions in the Alpine Cup in Zwiesel with second place over 15 km freestyle and first place in the sprint. At the season highlight of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , he achieved 46th place in the 50 km mass start race and 45th place in the skiathlon. He finished the season in second place in the overall ranking of the Alpine Cup. In the following year he won third place in the sprint and first place in the skiathlon at the Alpine Cup in Campra and finished 72nd in the 15 km freestyle and 48th place in the skiathlon at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .
