Sergio Vila-Sanjuán

Sergio Vila-Sanjuán Robert (* 1957 in Barcelona , Spain ) is a Spanish journalist and author whose mother tongue is Catalan .

Life

Vila-Sanjuán began writing articles on art and literature in 1977 for the now defunct newspapers El Correo Catalan and El Noticiero Universal . He has been with the daily La Vanguardia since 1997 . In 2013 he is the coordinator of the Cultura / s supplement of his newspaper.

In 1984 Vila-Sanjuán wrote the first monograph on the painter Miquel Barceló , and in 1999 he was the editor of an anthology on realism in Catalonia. In 2003 he published his first book, which was followed in 2007 by a book about the Frankfurt Book Fair . In the following years two novels were published in 2010 and 2012. The last one, entitled Estaba en el aire , was awarded the Premio Nadal , the Spanish Booker Prize, in 2013 .
