Serhij Boryssowytsch Krymskyj ( Ukrainian Сергі́й Бори́сович Кри́мський ; born June 2, 1930 in Artemiwsk , Ukrainian SSR ; † June 30, 2010 in Kiev , Ukraine ) was a Ukrainian philosopher and cultural scientist.

Life

Krymskyj lived in Kiev from 1943 and finished school there in 1948. From 1948 he studied philosophy . In 1953 he finished his studies at Taras Shevchenko University . Between 1954 and 1955 he worked as a teacher at a Kiev school.

From 1956 he worked as a laboratory assistant and from 1960 as a research assistant at the Philosophical Hryhorij Skoworoda Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kiev. In 1963 he received his doctorate in philosophy, in 1976 he completed his habilitation and in 1987 he became a professor at the same institute. He also taught at the National University of Kiev-Mohyla Academy and published 14 books and many essays. His books and essays have not yet been translated into German or other languages. In 2005 he received the Taras Shevchenko Prize .
