Karl Richard Hermann Frick (born June 12, 1922 in Cottbus ; † December 17, 2012 in Velden am Wörther See ) was a German non-fiction author and doctor .

Life

Frick, the son of a general practitioner, studied medicine and cultural and naval history after completing his service with the Navy in Kiel . At the end of the 1940s, he became involved in the Europa-Union Deutschland and became the shop steward of Wilhelm Hermes. In Kiel he was in 1953 with his work The bronchial carcinoma in section Material Institute of Pathology of the mining professional association in Bochum Dr. med. PhD. He then lived and worked in Bochum as an assistant doctor or general practitioner. From 1956 to 1984 he worked as a research assistant in a research department in the pharmaceutical industry , most recently as a clinical pharmacologist. Since his retirement, Frick lived in Göriach in the municipality of Velden am Wörther See in Carinthia . Together with Hans Viertler, he reorganized the local archive of the community of Velden am Wörther See.

Act

From the end of the 1950s, Frick first dealt intensively with the history of alchemy , and later with Freemasonry and Satanism . In 1959 his article on the alchemical studies of the Bochum doctor and Jobsiade poet Dr. Carl Arnold Kortum (1745-1824) . In 1960 another essay followed with the title The Tübingen Alchemist and Professor of Mathematics Johann Conrad Creiling (1673–1752) . From the 1970s onwards, Frick devoted himself to the Freemasons. In 1973 he published the first book on this subject, The Enlightened . The books Light and Darkness I and II followed in 1975 and 1978 . From the 1980s, Frick finally delved into the subject of Satanism. His work on alchemy appeared in Sudhoff's archive and was occasionally included in scientific works. For the esotericist Hans-Dieter Leuenberger , Frick's books on the history of esotericism are the standard works in German.

In some scientific publications, Frick is said to be ignorant, mistaken, flawed and incomplete with regard to his non-fiction books on Freemasonry and Satanism. The religious scholar Antoine Faivre describes the Fricks trilogy, which mainly deals with esoteric societies, as encyclopedic .
