Serikbek Däukeev

Serikbek Schüssipbekuly Däukejew ( Kazakh Серікбек Жүсіпбекұлы Дәукеев , Russian Серикбек Жусупбекович Даукеев / Serikbek Schussupbekowitsch Daukejew * 17th February 1950 in Semipalatinsk , Kazakhstan SSR ) is a Kazakh geophysicists and politicians .

Life

Serikbek Däukejew was born in Semipalatinsk in 1950 . He graduated from the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute in Alma-Ata in 1972 . After graduating from college, he first led an expedition near Alma-Ata. Between 1983 and 1992 he worked in various positions for the state organization Kasgeofisika in Alma-Ata, whose task was geophysical research.

From April 1992 to November 1993 Däukejew was Kazakhstan's first deputy minister for geology and nature conservation. He was then Minister of Geology and Mineral Resources until 1997. At the same time he was editor-in-chief of the magazine Mineralnyje ressursy Kazakhstan. He was then briefly Chairman of the Committee for Geology and the Conservation and Use of Mineral Resources and Vice Minister for Energy and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan before he again held a post in the Kazakh government. He was Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources in Nurlan Balghymbayev's cabinet . Under Qassym-Shomart Toqayev, Däukejew was a member of the Kazakh government as minister for natural resources and environmental protection until 2000. From 2000 to 2002 he was Äkim (governor) of the Atyrau region and at the same time a member of the board of the Kazakh oil company Kazakhoil and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan.

On April 8, 2002 he was appointed director of the Satbayev Institute for Geological Sciences. From April 16, 2002 to October 22, 2003 he was President of the Kazakh Academy of Sciences . After that, he was, among other things, chairman of the board of the Kazneftehim oil company and a board member of the state-owned company Qazgeology.
