Sermonde is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northwestern Portugal .
Sermonde belongs to the Vila Nova de Gaia district in the Porto district . The community had an area of 1.66 km² and 1361 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Sermonde and Grijó were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Grijó e Sermonde .
