Grijó is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northwestern Portugal .

Grijó belongs to the Vila Nova de Gaia district in the Porto district . The community had an area of ​​11.3 km² and 10,504 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Grijó and Sermonde were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Grijó e Sermonde .
