from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Servet Coşkun (born October 28, 1990 ) is a Turkish wrestler . In 2014 he was runner-up in the European free style in the weight class up to 65 kg body weight.

Career

Servet Coşkun started wrestling at the age of ten in 2000. He now belongs to the Istanbul Büyüksehir Belediyesi sports club and concentrates entirely on free style. The 1.70 meter tall athlete weighs around 70 kg, but as an adult always competed in the lightweight category and since January 1, 2014 in the weight class up to 65 kg body weight. He was or is trained by Ibrahim Akgül and Ali Özen.

He made his debut on the international wrestling mat back in 2006. He took part in the Junior European Championship (Cadets) in Vantaa / Finland in the weight class up to 58 kg and made it to the final, in which he played against Dawit Safarjan , Russia, lost. At the European Junior Championships (Cadets) 2007 in Warsaw, he started in the weight class up to 63 kg and took a good 5th place. Things went less well for him at the 2009 Junior World Championships in Ankara, because he lost there in the first round against Wegeni Nedealco from Moldova, where he was eliminated and only came in 25th.

In the senior class, Servet Coşkun was initially unable to establish itself in the absolute top Turkish class. In 2012, however, he finished third in the Turkish lightweight championship behind Muhammed Ilchan and Yakup Gör and in December 2013 he was the first Turkish lightweight champion ahead of Mustafa Kaya, Mustafa Kuyuncu and Engin Bozkurt. It was therefore used by the Turkish Wrestling Association at the 2014 European Championships in Vantaa in the weight class up to 65 kg. He won there over Norbert Lukacs, Hungary, Nikolai Bolotnjuk, Slovakia and Borislaw Novatschkow , Bulgaria and stood in the final against Magomed Kurbanalijew from Russia, against whom he lost on points. He became vice European champion.
