Seyi Tunde Olajengbesi (born November 17, 1980 in Ibadan ) is a Nigerian football player on the position of a defender .

Career

In the club

He played for Shooting Stars FC Ibadan, from 1997 to 2000 for Plateau United and from 2001 to 2003 for Julius Berger FC Lagos. In January 2004 he moved to SC Freiburg in the German Bundesliga . His start in the second half of the 2003/04 season was very mixed. Since he could not speak the language either, he had great difficulty adjusting.

In the second season in Breisgau things went better for the robust defender until he was injured in August 2004 and was out for several months. In the Bundesliga game against Borussia Mönchengladbach (1: 1), SC coach Volker Finke replaced the Nigerian in the 41st minute after the then 23-year-old defender tore a cruciate ligament without the action of an opponent .

Until the relegation of SC Freiburg in the 2004/05 season, he completed twelve Bundesliga soccer games due to his injury.

In the 2005/06 season he was part of the Freiburg team in the 2nd Bundesliga . After he was only a substitute player in the first half of the season under the new coach Robin Dutt in the 2007/08 season , he was initially left for the rest of the season to league competitor Alemannia Aachen in January 2008 , who then paid him for the previously agreed transfer fee of € 100,000 firmly committed until 2010. In the central defense of Alemannia, he was able to play his way into the regular formation quite quickly.

On February 12, 2010, Olajengbesi extended his contract early until 2012 with an option for a further year. After finishing thirteen (2010) and ten (2011) in the midfield, the 2011/12 season ended for him and Alemannia with relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga. On January 24, 2013, Olajengbesi terminated his contract with Alemannia Aachen due to a lack of salary payments.

Six days later he signed a contract with the second division club SV Sandhausen .

National team

Between 2002 and 2004 he played seven international matches for the Nigerian national team.
