Shooting Stars FC

The Shooting Stars Football Club is a Nigerian soccer team from Ibadan . The home games are played in the Lekan Salami Stadium . The team has long been one of the country's internationally successful clubs, but was relegated from the Nigerian Premier League in 2006 and played in the second-highest division until 2009. In the 2009/10 season they finished 11th in the Nigerian Premier League.

Under the name WNDC Ibadan (WNDC = Western Nigeria Development Company), the team was a founding member of the Nigerian Premier League in 1972 . Together with the Enugu Rangers , the club dominated Nigerian football in the 1970s and 80s. Internationally, the club won the African Cup Winners' Cup in 1976 and was the winner of the first CAF Cup in 1992 .
