The Sfax (Q 182) was a submarine of the French Navy during World War II . The name of the boat goes back to the Tunisian town of Sfax . The submarine belonged to the Agosta class and was therefore one of the last built 1500-ton submarines .
The boat was used in Africa after the surrender of France .
The Sfax was erroneously sunk on December 19, 1940 off Tarfaya , Morocco at position 28 ° 3 ' N , 12 ° 54' W by the German submarine U 37 .
